Speech Pathology Services — Working with First Peoples Children
Judy has extensive experience working with Australia’s First Peoples children across many parts of regional, rural and remote Australia.
Judy provides speech-language pathology assessment and therapy or programming support for First Peoples children in a way that respects and celebrates who they truly are and the unique place they occupy within Australia.
Judy understands the importance of meeting children where they are at and supporting them, their families and their communities in moving them to where they want to be. Working positively and successfully with First Peoples children involves understanding the unique language and cultural strengths children bring with them to preschool and school and how working with these strengths assists the children to continue learning and growing when they begin formal schooling.
Judy uses language-appropriate and culturally-safe ways of examining and describing speech, language and literacy skill development for individual First Peoples children.
